Course Description

In Technology & Civilization (Spring 2008), students study A Whole New Mind, Why Right-Brainers Will Rule The Future by Daniel Pink. With successful completion of this course, students will:
  • Explain why Asia, abundance, and automation have changed the world.
  • Describe the Six Senses (major aptitudes) and describe their progress in using the Senses.
  • Classify mental tasks as "right-brain" or "left-brain" dominant.
  • Tell you their own "right-brain" and "left-brain" strengths and weaknesses.
  • Use web 2.0 tools to do all of the above.

Technology & Civilization is a series of computer technology courses in which students study a popular and relevant book. The course was first taught in Fall of 2007 using Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond (see the class wikispace).
